Synopsis change

After discussing the positive and negative parts to our target audience we decided to alter the plot of our film slightly to improve the interest in the target audience and to also to make it more appealing as a trailer.

"...Endora Herman and Lily Frost were the best of sisters until a couple of years after university when Lily started dating Michael Frost. Michael entimidated Endora and started stiring things up between the sisters. This ended up with Lily stating that she never wanted to see Endora again which Endora took badly. She ended up killing herself the next day, Lily always blamed herself for it. She left Michael and chose to raise Olivia alone. This was took badly, she began drinking and doing drugs which led to her abusing Olivia from a young age. Olivia felt so alone in the world and pined for a friend and Endora became this for her. She was there when her mother wasn't but Endora was plotting against her sister..."

Final Mobile Website Creation

Link for the mobile websitehttp://m.wix.com/tiffanyroberts1/obsessionHere is the final outcome of the Mobile Website which fits in with the other three platforms.I feel that I have followed the codes and conventions through within this mobile website to add to my project.

Final Website Creation

Above are the final screenshots of my horror website which I have created to connect with the other two platforms.

Creating the Mobile Website

After designing my website I decided to broaden and interact with the movie by creating a website app for a mobile phone. Nowadays people have phones with the internet which would make it easy to view the website on an app. People could scan in a QR code which could be on the poster and it would instantly go to this mobile website.

Final Poster and Analysis

To gain a professional effect towards my poster I wanted to follow the generic conventions of having a colour theme of black, white and red.
The image itself of the Aunt Endora looking down onto Olivia conveys the narrative of the trailer, but doesn’t give too much away. The choice of mise en scene for Olivia such as the white bear, white dress and blonde hair conveys purity and shows that she is the innocent one. However we can tell that something bad is going to happen to Olivia because the Aunt, Endora looks as though she is plotting something. It contradicts the whole stereotype of being an Aunt; she shouldn’t want to hurt her niece. The face of the Aunt looks as though it is coming out of the shadows which I have edited on Photoshop, it makes her seem as though she is there but doesn’t want to be noticed. I have used the tool (burn) to highlight her features to make them darker making her seem tired and scary. Her eyes are telling a story, conveying that she knows something that no-body else does which engages with the audience. They would want to find out what the secret of the Aunt is.
I wanted to use a direct mode of address with the villain and this is why Endora is looking straight at audience, therefore suggesting that they are the victim and creating an impact already on the audience. The slogan itself is placed in the centre of the page more over to the right, which is suggesting that the Mother’s love of the daughter isn’t enough for her which leads Olivia into finding someone else which links it with plot. It’s conventional for the image to link in with the tagline in order to create a potential narrative.
I have used a texture to give the poster more depth and body and I also wanted it to convey that the Aunt has tried to scratch away the image so that her secret will not be let out.
I have chosen Olivia to have a sad expression on her face to convey her emotions in the film, I want the audience to feel sorry for this character which I think I have created well.

Editing Software for Trailer

To gain the best out of the editing aspect of our trailer Jennifer and I downloaded many trials for different videoing software. We tried out Windows Movie Maker first and decided that it wasn’t accurate and intense enough for the amount of editing we wanted to achieve which would have hindered our creativity. We then tried out Cyber Link Power Director 10, this was found to be a lot better and was definitely better for exporting files but the effects were still not quite up to our expectations and we still felt that we could do better.  We then downloaded a trial of Sony Vegas which managed to impress Jennifer and I with the amount of extra detail that it gave although we were still having trouble exporting. This is why we have decided to stick with Sony Vegas and then if we aren’t happy with the exporting then we will edit in Sony Vegas and export in Power Director.

Creating the Website

After looking at my options I chose the website 'www.wix.com' to create my website. The website allowed me to create the best website that I could with the genre of horror in mind. Here are the screenshots of the making.
